HIV Life Cycle
The life cycle of the HIV virus is a multi-step process. This animation describes the structure of the HIV virus, receptor-mediated attachment to CD4 lymphocytes, viral envelope fusion with the CD4 cell membrane, uncoating and release of viral RNA into the target cell cytoplasm, reverse transcription leading to the formation of viral DNA, viral DNA genomic integration, transcription of viral mRNA, and translation of viral proteins leading to the assembly of new viruses.
This animation is narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, who was Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a leading Canadian AIDS researcher and activist.

How HIV Causes Disease
Переглядів 313 тис.10 років тому
CD4 T-cells (a type of white blood cell) are important to your body's defence against infections. This animation describes how your immune system is weakened by the HIV virus, which targets CD4 T-cells and leads to their gradual decline in number. Low to very low levels of CD4 cells put you at risk for 'opportunistic infections' that take advantage of the body's weakened immune system. To learn...
Diagnosis and Testing of HIV Infection
Переглядів 317 тис.10 років тому
While anyone can be infected with HIV, regardless of age, gender, or lifestyle, HIV cannot be diagnosed through symptoms since they may be related to other illnesses. The only way to know if you have HIV is to take an HIV test. This animation describes the clinical steps and procedures used for determining whether you are HIV-positive. Transmission and Prevention of HIV
Переглядів 4,3 млн10 років тому
The modes of transmission of HIV are numerous. This animation describes the common and less common ways in which HIV can be transmitted from one person to another. While HIV is most commonly spread from an infected person through vaginal or anal intercourse, as well as intravenous blood exposure through the sharing of needles, there are practices and measures that you can take to help minimize ...
Mechanisms of PI Resistance
Переглядів 6 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes how mutations in viral proteases can lead to resistance to PI drugs. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of Action of Protease Inhibitors (PIs)
Переглядів 45 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes how PI drugs work by directly binding viral proteases. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of NRTI Resistance (Primer Nucleoside Unblocking)
Переглядів 7 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes the second mechanism of resistance of reverse transcriptase enzyme to some of NRTI drugs, called primer nucleoside unblocking. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of Action of Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTIs)
Переглядів 91 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes how NRTI drugs work by incorporating themselves into viral DNA as it is being transcribed, and thus, blocking further extension of the viral DNA chain. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of NNRTI Resistance
Переглядів 7 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes how mutations acquired by the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme can effectively prevent NNRTI drugs from being able to bind to it. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of NRTI Resistance (Nucleoside Analogue Discrimination)
Переглядів 12 тис.10 років тому
This animation explains the first mechanism of resistance of reverse transcriptase enzyme to some of NRTI drugs, known as nucleoside analogue discrimination. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Mechanisms of Action of Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs)
Переглядів 60 тис.10 років тому
This animation describes how Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs) work by blocking the ability of the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme to convert viral RNA into viral DNA. Narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a Canadian AIDS researcher and activist. To learn more visit www.AnimatedHIVScience.com
Basic Function of Immune System

Adherence and Resistance Issues with HIV Drug Treatment
Переглядів 57 тис.10 років тому
For people living with HIV, there can be a lot of different reasons why taking medication on a regular basis can be difficult, but two major factors affecting the success of treatment are adherence and resistance. This animation describes how adhering to your prescribed medication schedule is beneficial and minimizes the risk that your HIV will develop resistance to your medical treatment. It i...
I had 2 years exposure i test hiv from blood vein ag/ab is non reactive aka negative do i have to test again cause i still afraid
Is there a way to destroy gps120 when they stick to the outer layer of Td4 cells and after that matrix core can't go out with out them ? Can a specialist answer my question plz ?
What a well-designed visual and clear explanation of the mechanism of NRTIs. Thank you so much!
❤
Thank you so much your explanation was perfect
Very helpful video thanks you❤
Really great video. Evil in virus form.
Hoping for a cure
Wow. You made this so easy to understand. Thank you!
I have a device to stay away from that....
The nasty scraper unfortunatly permit because point nutritionally tie next a separate roast. blue, nappy crop
It is real and powerful
Excellent video😍
When hiv attacks cd4 cells why ,they don't kill hiv virus ,,😡😡😡
Unbelievable 😭😭😭😭 The most amazing video 😡😡🤩❤️❤️❤️
Very informative and useful video. definitely will subscribe to your channel. know more about HIV/AIDS by clicking www.healthinfoupdate.com/2021/02/HIVAIDSStages.html. I found this page very useful and informative.

Better wear that condom during sex... It also helps to limit the number of sex partners you have (not be promiscuous). A lot of cases of HIV transmission are a result of meth fueled sex parties... NOT ALL... but there are quite a few that are!!!
People should be aware of their sexual partners and if they are hiv positive.this can be preventable
What if u sex with 20 people and no one is HIV positive, then is there any chance of HIV virus creation.?
Viral load results Target Not Determined (TND) means? Thank you in advance
Now I know.
Poor dog I liked my own commet how sad.
This is some scary shit
Waoooo jxt amazingggg ❤️
That's awesome! thank you!
Love this animation
Awesome video.. thanks
Does it can be avoided by Using condom
Why dislike in this video
Only God could create this Incredible mechanism
Very helpful 👍
It's fake!.
Call change
Good explanation. However I couldn't find and get HIV has two RNAs. In the last step, from where the HIV gets these two RNAs?
This makes no sense. I don't see any plausible cause of action. - Retroviruses simply don't kill cells.
avoid the direct point of contact with the infected person....and also ensure yourself to act upon the preventive measures....until we have the vaccine of it..ALL must be striving in discovering out the vaccine of AIDS....
Cancer,HIV,typhoid, malaria, heart, lungs, kidney accidents has high mortality rate, believers of God Jesus will overcome fear, death by His death on the cross n arise again bodily after death as His ressurrection on the 3rd day. C ' Jesus heals' in google...!!..!
After entry of matrix covered virus, where are the lysosomes, don't they engulf it and decode it?
Thankyou very much
I know to gay guy who got aids and they have been married for years it’s like God is saying something anal sex shouldn’t happen.
I'm here after a risky brief exposure 🙏
It's more horrifying then most horror flims because it's real.😱
